Corporate Social Responsibility and Discrimination
1 Edition (2016) by
About the book
This book questions conventional explanations for the differences in the career development of men and women and declares discrimination in the workplace as the main reason. In this respect, the book addresses the lack of CSR measures and the insufficient legal framework in this field and especially points out disadvantages of organizational incentive policies, social biases, and the own economic interest of decision-makers as boundaries for the career development of women. The assumptions are discussed with the help of the results of an empirical study, simulating the employee selection in male-dominated working areas, such as science and technology.
